Scott is passionate about understanding the deep origins of the contemporary imbalances that underlie our multiple environmental crises. This inquiry has led him to investigate the historical contexts of modern Western culture, a culture that directs and constrains our perceptions and ways of relating to our embodied beings, to each other, and to the lands and places we inhabit. These explorations have been strongly informed by his studies with Stephen Jenkinson at the Orphan Wisdom School, since 2013, where he has focused on topics such as culture, language, ritual, technology, ancestry, myth, death and grief.

Parallel to his cultural investigations, Scott has been on a path of embodiment. Initially drawn to somatically-focused yoga and meditation practices, he has had a deepening conscious dance practice since 2013. Scott has completed the Ground Floor Lab with Open Floor International, and currently co-facilitates the monthly Guelph Conscious Dance. Knowing the central role that individual and collective trauma play in our journeys of embodiment and reconnection, Scott is currently enrolled in the Somatic Experiencing professional training program.

Scott completed the year-long training in ontological coaching from Accomplishment Coaching, the five-month Art of Facilitation training from PYE Global, and two years (Module I) of Jin Shin Do BodyMind acupressure training. He is oriented toward reclaiming healthy masculine ways of being, and currently co-leads a men's team in Guelph, Ontario.

Scott has a PhD and works as an Assistant Professor at the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada. He conducts pioneering research and is an international award-winning scientific researcher focused on keeping cities cool and liveable as the climate warms.

A highlight of his journey so far was completion of the 800 km Camino de Santiago pilgrimage across northern Spain in 2015.
