SOMATIC EXPERIENCING

Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a powerful tool to help resolve trauma. Yet, contrary to the predilection much of modern culture, it often works slowly, in small movements, over time. After all, a lot of trauma is the result of events that are too much and/or that occur too fast for our nervous systems to integrate. Equally as importantly, SE helps us become aware of how we function, learning how to work with our autonomic nervous system (largely unconscious), instead of fighting with it and therefore with ourselves. In am currently in my first year of a three year training to become a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP). We are taught how to use some of the core techniques in safe ways right away, and this is currently what I offer.
